The American Bully was created around the mid 90s. These dogs were bred for their personality, character, energy, drive, stamina and their stable temperament. The American Bully is a combination of the desired characteristics of the American Pit Bull Terrier and the American Staffordshire Terrier. This was achieved through years of selective breeding. The American Bully possesses the loyalty and stability of the American Pit Bull Terrier while retaining the friendly and outgoing temperament of the American Staffordshire Terrier. This unique breed is known for their extreme tolerance toward children and an overwhelming desire to be part of the family to be there. These dogs are confident, but not aggressive. All in all, this breed has a very good temperament. The American Bully is a reliable dog that fits within a family.

General impression

The American Bully should give impression of great strength for his size. A medium sized dog with a muscular body. Elegant in its movement, alert in his environment. He should be stocky built, so no long legs or have a racy appearance.


Breed description of the American Bully

Head  The head of the american bully is medium in length, has a deep and broad skull has very broad cheek muscles.
He also has a distinct stop, and high set ears that are generally quite far apart

Ears   The ears are quite far apart and are beautiful hanging (roses ears)

Eyes  All colors are allowed in this race except albinism, further they are round to oval and they lie deep in the skull and they are far apart.

Muzzle  The muzzle of the american bully is of medium length (2 to 3 fingers wide), has a round top and falls abruptly away under the eyes of the dog. The lower jaw should be strong and muscular and has an immense high strength. Further, the upper teeth on the right lower teeth (scissor)

Neck  The neck is quite heavy, wide and slightly bent while slightly down from the shoulders to the back of the skull.

Shoulders  The shoulders should be in proportion with the body far apart, are powerful, wide and muscular.

Back  The back of the American Bully is short in relation to the length of the dog. The back should be straight and not walk descending or ascending to the back of the dog.

Body  The front legs are pretty far apart so that the breast can develop further. Furthermore, the chest is deep and wide.

Tail  The tail is set low and ends in a point but is mostly quite straight. Crooked, bent or docked tails are not allowed.

Legs  The front legs of the dog are diametrically of the body down the front leg should not outwards or inwards twisted. Also, the back of the dog well muscled and the hind legs also right next to each other.

Movement: The movement should be beautiful and elegant and effortless movement for the dog.

Coat  The coat of the American Bully is short-haired and all colors are allowed. The coat should be as beautiful shiny coat reflected partly the health of the dog.
